A number of exciting music acts have been added to the immersive line-up of entertainment on offer at Chester Racecourse for Roman Day in partnership with Via Roma on Saturday 25th May.
The racecourse has this year teamed up with Deva Fest for the renowned celebration of Chester’s historic roots to put on an array of activities and family fun.
That has already seen children’s favourites SuperPirates, AmaSing, Bubble Inc and Laughter Tots announced for the Open Course, while several bands are now set to take to the Roodee for live performances throughout the afternoon, too.
Captivating hearts in every port, guests will be able to say ‘ahoy there’ to the plentiful crew of the Old Time Sailors, who will be bringing their immersive sea shanty music show to the racecourse.
Internet sensations The Odds, meanwhile, have previously blown audiences away with their unique renditions of some modern-day classics. The Widnes-based four-piece regularly tour the UK and will be performing a mix of original material and favourites, while Xander and the Peace Pirates, the former resident house band at the iconic Cavern Club for five years, will also bring a festival vibe to proceedings alongside Stephen Lockhart.
Steve Davies, Chief Operating Officer at Chester Racecourse, said:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Old Time Sailors, the Odds, Xander and the Peace Pirates and Stephen Lockhart to our amazing line-up of immersive entertainment for Roman Day. These exciting music acts are firm Deva Fest favourites that are guaranteed to get our guests singing and dancing.
“The addition of these acts enhances our incredible offering for Roman Day, which already features a fantastic card of racing and fun activities for all the family out on the Open Course. It promises to be a spectacular occasion not to be missed.”
Philip Marston, Founder of Deva Fest, said:
“We’re really excited to bring some of the music and family fun that Deva Fest guests love so much to Roman Day at Chester Racecourse. There is something for all ages and to have performances from a selection of the amazing artists who perform at Deva Fest will amplify what is always a great spectacle.”
