Police officers investigating a collision in Chester are appealing for information and witnesses.
At around 5.09am on Saturday 19 September, officers responded to reports of a road traffic collision in the Backford area of Chester.
Officers attended the scene on the A41 Liverpool Road near to Heath Farm and found that the collision involved a black Kawasaki Z650 D2 motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 22-year-old man sustained minor injuries.
He has since been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drink driving, drug driving, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.
He remains in custody at this time, assisting officers with their enquires.
The pillion passenger, a 22-year-old man, has sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time.
His injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Detective Sergeant Amy Hollis said:
“We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Liverpool Road area at around the time of the incident this morning and may have seen the bike to please contact our officers.
“We would also like to ask any motorists who were driving in the area at the time and have access to any dashcams to please review them to see if they have any video footage that may aid our investigation.
“This is a serious collision and we are doing all we can to fully establish the circumstances of what took place. With that in mind, I would also like to remind everyone that this is an ongoing live investigation and to not engage in speculation, particularly on social media.”
