Dan Price, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner has welcomed the announcement released by the Home Office that an extra £100m will be invested in putting police officers back into neighbourhoods.
For Cheshire this means an extra £3m for local policing.
In December 2024, the government promised £100m would be provided to Police and Crime Commissioners to increase police officer numbers. Today, 31st January, an extra £100m – taking the total to £200m – has been allocated to boost officer numbers further.
Dan Price, Police and Crime Commissioner said:
“Cheshire residents continue to tell me that they want to see more visible local police. This is something I committed to during my election campaign and this announcement helps to deliver on that promise.”
