KidsBank’s Flintshire Hub marks first anniversary with over 25,000 essential items donated to local families

Children’s charity KidsBank has celebrated the first anniversary of its Flintshire Hub, marking a year of supporting local families and providing essential items to children living in poverty across the county.

Since launching in 2019, the charity has provided more than 500,000 new and pre-loved items to families facing a range of challenges, including homelessness, financial hardship and domestic abuse, with demand continuing to rise each year.

While KidsBank has supported families in Flintshire since its establishment in 2019, the opening of its dedicated Flintshire Hub last year has enabled the charity to expand its impact.

In its first year, the Flintshire Hub has supported more than 580 children and 300 families, re-gifting over 25,000 items such as clothing, baby equipment, toiletries, nappies, and books.

Dee Denton, CEO of KidsBank, said:

“We want to say a huge thank you to all the donors, volunteers, supporters and partners who have helped to make our first year possible. It is their kindness and generosity that has helped us make a real difference to children and families across Flintshire.

“A special thank you goes to Nikki Smith, who leads our team at the Flintshire Hub and has shown incredible dedication to the families we support.

“As we look to reach even more families and extend our opening hours, we are now looking for additional volunteers and drivers to join our team.

KidsBank operates from two dedicated centres based in Flintshire and Chester. The Flintshire Hub is currently open from 10am to 3pm, every Tuesday to Thursday, with opening hours set to increase to Tuesday to Friday in the new year.
