Final preparations are underway as a Frodsham-based theatre company is set to bring a feel good Christmas themed musical to a theatre near Northwich.
The Zodiac Theatre company will stage "Elf the Musical " at The Grange Theatre in Hartford from Wednesday 13th November 2024 - Saturday 16th November at 7.30pm. A 2pm matinee performance on Saturday 16th November has already sold out and so producers are urging Elf fans to book early to avoid disappointment. The production will be directed for The Zodiac Theatre Company by Lou Steggals with musical direction by Craig Price and choreography by Jessica Martin.
Zodiac Theatre Company's production of "Elf The Musical" arrives at The Grange Theatre ahead of a busy and exciting time for the Hartford venue as the theatre prepares to stage its first in-house professional Christmas show - "Peter Pan" in December.
First produced on Broadway in 2010 and based on the award-winning 2003 Will Ferrell film, "Elf the Musical" tells the heart-warming and hilarious tale of Buddy the Elf, who leaves the North Pole to find his real father in New York City. Faced with the reality that his father is on Santa’s naughty list and with a half-brother who doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to spread cheer, win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Featuring a delightful cast of characters and catchy songs by Matthew Skylar and Chad Begueling performed by a truly talented cast supported by a 12-piece live band, the show is guaranteed to put audiences in the Christmas spirit.
Leading the cast as Buddy the Elf is Tayler Spruce, by day a cabin crew training manager for a leading airline who said of his role "Trading an aircraft cabin for Santa's sleigh has been a welcome change!"
Speaking about bringing the much lived musical to the stage, the show's director Lou Steggals said:
"We’re delighted to bring this heartwarming and hilarious story to life on stage. Elf is more than just a holiday tale—it’s a celebration of family, friendship, and the magic of believing. I’m so proud of our incredible cast and crew for bringing the spirit - and comedy - of Christmas so brilliantly to life. This show is a real gift for the holiday season, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone!"
