Appeal for information following serious collision in Ellesmere Port

Detectives from Cheshire Police are appealing for information following a serious collision in Ellesmere Port.

At 9.30am on Saturday 5th September, police were called to reports of a collision on Hookstone Drive in Little Sutton.

Officers attended and found that there had been a collision between a pedestrian and a Mercedes Sprinter van which had been reversing.

The pedestrian, an 89-year-old local woman, sustained serious and was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital; her condition is currently described as critical.

The driver of the van, a 34-year-old man from Crewe, was uninjured and is assisting police with their enquiries. 

Detective Sergeant Amy Collision, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to get in touch with us.

“The same goes for anyone with any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident.”
