Dee Radio, which first began putting its programmes over the airwaves in 2003, continues to be based in the city centre thanks to its home at the University of Chester’s Riverside Innovation Centre.
Available to local listeners on FM radio and available globally via DAB and online at dee1063.com, Dee Radio brings local news and sport, the best music over the decades, and a strong community spirit to the airwaves every day.
From early-morning travel updates to thoughtful interviews with local leaders and creatives, Dee Radio continues to champion the stories that matter most to Chester. Dee Radio is the only station based in Chester, making the most of the studio at the Riverside Innovation Centre.
Station CEO Chris Hurst says the station’s mission has never been clearer:
“Dee Radio is built on a simple promise – to serve the people of Chester with genuine local content they can rely on.
“Our team lives and breathes this community, and we’re proud to be a station that reflects its energy, creativity, and heart. Being based in the Riverside Innovation Centre ensure we are at the core of everything Chester.”
University of Chester Head of Commercial Services Trace Street added:
“We are delighted to support Dee Radio at the Riverside Innovation Centre by providing a base that enables it to continue broadcasting from Chester, for Chester. Dee Radio plays an important role in the life of the city, championing local voices, businesses and communities, and we are proud to host a station that so clearly reflects our shared commitment to civic engagement, creativity and regional impact.”
Dee Radio plans to go from strength to strength with new programming, expanded digital channels, and community partnerships.
