Major investment brings new generation dialysis technology to Countess of Chester Hospital patients

Patients receiving dialysis treatment at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are set to benefit from the latest generation of dialysis technology thanks to a major £350,000 investment in new equipment.

The Trust has invested in 22 new Fresenius 6008 dialysis machines, replacing equipment that has reached the end of its operational life.

Following staff training, the new machines are expected to be introduced in September, and feature advanced technology designed to improve treatment precision, safety and patient comfort.

Enhanced monitoring systems and more accurate fluid management will help clinical teams deliver dialysis treatments more safely and consistently, while giving staff greater flexibility to tailor care to each patient's individual needs.

The technology will also help clinicians personalise dialysis treatment more closely to each patient's requirements, supporting a more individualised approach to care.

More precise treatment delivery may help reduce treatment-related symptoms and improve patients' experience during dialysis sessions.

As well as benefiting patients, the machines have an intuitive design and user-friendly interface, helping staff work more efficiently while allowing nurses to spend more time providing direct patient care.
