A 31-year-old man has been jailed for selling cannabis in Ellesmere Port.

Edward Kaye, from Pyecroft Street in Chester, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Thursday 3rd September to be sentenced after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B (cannabis)

Kaye was jailed for 14 months.

Detectives from Western Proactive CID identified that a phone number believed to be linked to Kaye was advertising the sale of cannabis in Ellesmere Port.

Further enquiries confirmed this and a warrant was executed at his home in Pyecroft Street, Chester.

More than a kilogram of cannabis in various deal sizes as well as digital scales and cash were seized along with the mobile phone that led officers to Kaye’s door.

The street value range of the drugs was between £5,660 and £9435.

DC Jack Ryder said:

“This is one of many dealers we’ve successfully taken off the streets and seized their drugs for destruction. We will continue with our efforts to tackle drug dealing in our community.”
