Cheshire Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision near Chester earlier today.
At around 5am on Friday 7 August police were called to reports of a collision on the A41 Whitchurch Road in Chowley.
Officers attended the scene and found there had been a collision between a pedestrian and a HGV.
The pedestrian, a woman from the Chester area, sustained serious injuries and sadly died at the scene.
The driver of the HGV, a 49-year-old man from Beechwood, Merseyside, is uninjured.
The road was closed while officers dealt with the incident. The closure was lifted shortly after 2pm.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to get in touch. The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid the investigation.
