Flint RNLI volunteers were tasked by UK Coastguard at 12:03pm on Wednesday 28th May to assist two people reported to be cut off by the tide near Greenfield.
Flint lifeboat was transported by road to Greenfield Dock, where it was promptly launched. The volunteer crew quickly located the two casualties and brought them safely on board the lifeboat.
Once on board, the individuals were assessed by the crew, provided with lifejackets and transported safely back to Greenfield Dock into the care of Flint Coastguard Rescue Team.
James Davies, Flint RNLI Helm said:
‘The casualties did the right thing by calling 999 and asking for the Coastguard. The Dee Estuary has a large tidal range, and it’s easy to get caught out. If you’re heading to the coast, always check the tide times and carry a means of calling for help.’
Flint RNLI lifeboat station was established in 1966.
