Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a fatal collision in Chester.
At 11.33pm, police were called to reports of a serious collision at Parkgate Road in Chester, at the junction with Welsh Road.
The collision involved two vehicles, a grey Cupra Born and a black Kia Sportage.
Sadly, a passenger in the Kia, a 70-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
The driver of the Kia, along with a further two passengers, suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital. A fourth passenger suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Cupra was uninjured.
Inspector Andrew Dennison said:
“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened or has any dashcam footage which may aid our investigation to get in touch with us.
“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the woman who has sadly died.”
