Chester Football Club have announced the signing of James Horsfield.
The 25-year-old arrives at the Deva Stadium after featuring for us during pre-season and has signed an initial short-term deal.
James, who played alongside James Hardy and George Glendon at Manchester City, can play at full back or in midfield.
From Hazel Grove, Stockport, the versatile Horsfield has had loan spells at Doncaster Rovers and Dundee in his career, as well as both temporary and permanent stints at NAC Breda – helping them to promotion back to the Dutch Eredivisie.
He most recently was with Wrexham for the 2020/21 campaign.
Blues Joint Boss Anthony Johnson said: “James has been with us since the last couple of weeks of pre-season but due to the covid break we’ve been unable to get him up to match speed until now.
“He’s worked tremendously hard to get at the right fitness levels and we look forward to seeing his undoubted ability.”
James will wear the number 15 shirt and is available for tomorrow’s FA Cup tie at Darlington.
