Chester FC are delighted to confirm that Anthony Dudley’s contract has been extended by the Club.
The Blues were quick to activate an option in the forward’s deal which will see him enter his fourth season at Chester FC.
Despite being just 24 years of age, Dudley has already amassed 103 appearances at the Deva Stadium – and has an impressive return of 24 goals since his arrival in the summer of 2018.
Anthony was our top scorer in 2018-19, whilst initially being on loan from Salford City, with 11 goals in 38 appearances.
He was subsequently named Golden Boot winner and Seals Live Player of the Season at the clubs Annual Awards before making his move permanent the following month.
‘Duds’ chipped in with seven goals in just 12 starts in the curtailed 2020/21 campaign, including scoring in five consecutive games at the turn of the year – the second best goalscoring run since the club’s 2010 reformation.
Blues Joint Manager Anthony Johnson said: “I think myself and Bernard have thrown every superlative under the sun at Anthony Dudley since he signed for us at Salford back in 2017 as a 19-year-old.
“But I can honestly say, for about nine or ten games last season, he was putting in performances that belonged in the EFL. He was that good.
“He’s 25 in September and knows this next season is huge in his career if he wants to be back playing in the EFL.
“He has every weapon in his armour as all Chester fans already know but we really want him to push us to the next level next season.
“His numbers in terms of goal involvements are better than one in two but yet we still think there’s so much more to come from the boy and we’re certain it’ll be next season.”
Great to have you staying on board, Duds!
Anthony Dudley is now signed up for 2021/22, will you be joining him?
