Chester FC Women’s winning run came to an end on Sunday, as they fell to a stoppage time defeat to Macclesfield in the NWWRFL Division One South.
Coming into the game off the back of three straight victories, Kalvin Williams’ side made the perfect start at Moss Rose as Chloe Davis’ promising run was finished by an excellent curling finish.
Davis then set up Emma Gray who was denied by the ‘keeper, before the hosts went through on goal to score and level the game after 29 minutes.
Little occurred for the remainder of the half, and then Chester almost retook the lead midway through the second 45 as sub Ash Bullock tried her luck from a tight angle but it was saved.
The Silkmen nicked it though in stoppage time with a 92nd minute goal which found the bottom corner and saw the Seals defeated late on. They’ll look to bounce back next Sunday at the Deva at home to FC St Helens.
