You know your age, but do you know your numbers this Know Your Numbers Week?

Residents in Cheshire West and Chester are being offered free blood pressure checks from 7th to 13th September to help beat a potentially serious condition that has no symptoms.

The checks take place across the borough during Know Your Numbers Week, a national campaign run by the charity Blood Pressure UK.

The campaign, supported annually by Cheshire West and Chester Council and Brio Leisure, aims to reach those who have high blood pressure and do not know it. People can then access the treatment and support they need to bring it under control.

Brio Leisure is offering free blood pressure checks at several drop-in sessions during Know Your Numbers Week. These include:

  • Neston Recreation Centre, 10am to noon on Monday, 7 September, and Tuesday, 8 September

  • Christleton Leisure Centre, 4pm to 8pm on Monday, 7 September

  • Chester Football Club, 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, 8 September

  • Stanlaw Children’s Centre, 9.30am to 11.30am on Wednesday, 9 September

  • Storyhouse, Chester, 10am to 2pm, on Wednesday, 9 September

  • Frodsham Leisure Centre, drop-in sessions available all week.

Free blood pressure checks are also offered at doctor’s surgeries, pharmacies, some workplaces, gyms and health clubs, and as part of an NHS Health Check.

Brio has a blood pressure monitor located at Frodsham Leisure Centre (Princeway, Frodsham, WA6 6RX) which is available for residents to use.
