Families across Cheshire West and Chester are being invited to celebrate the launch of the borough's new Best Start Family Hubs this October half term, bringing together a wide range of support for children, young people and their families under one roof.
The Best Start Family Hubs programme, which runs in addition to the existing Children’s Centres in the borough, has been designed to make it easier for families to access services, advice and activities locally, from pregnancy and early years support through to support for older children and young people and wider families.
Throughout the launch week, families will be able to visit hubs, in Winsford, Northwich, Ellesmere Port and Chester to take part in a programme of free activities, including stay and play sessions, family fun events, parenting support, health and wellbeing advice, and opportunities to meet the teams and learn how to use the new online booking system for the hubs.
Family Hubs will provide a welcoming space where families can access information, guidance and practical support on a range of issues including infant feeding, child development, emotional wellbeing, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), parenting, relationships, employment and financial wellbeing.
Councillor Adam Langan, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families for Cheshire West and Chester Council, said:
"The launch of our Family Hubs marks an important step in making sure that children, young people and families can access the right support, at the right time, in the right place."
"We know that raising a family can be rewarding but also challenging, and these hubs will provide welcoming spaces where families can get advice, build connections and access a wide range of services close to home.
"It would be great if families visit their local hub during launch week, meet the teams and find out more about the support available."
The Family Hubs programme forms part of the Council's commitment to giving every child the best start in life and helping families thrive. By bringing services together, the hubs will help families access support more easily and reduce the need to navigate multiple organisations and services.
