Here are the latest results for the Chester & Wirral Football League...
It was a weekend of dramatic shifts across the Chester and Wirral Football League, with new leaders taking over at the top of three of the four divisions that saw action by Saturday night.
The shake-up began on Friday evening in the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Premier Division, where Higher Bebington Klema made a resounding statement. They dislodged early leaders Birkenhead Vets with a comprehensive 9-1 victory to claim top spot. Craig Cairns led the way with a clinical hat-trick, while Lee Davey, Lee Ralfe, John Paul Wheadon, Alex Ramsy, Ethan Tellet, and Anthony Cotgrave all found the net in a dominant display. On the same night, Crewe Vets enjoyed a comfortable evening at home, dispatching Upton JFC Vets 4-0.
The goals continued to flow on Saturday in the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division. Chester Nomads climbed to the summit after an entertaining 7-4 win over Upton JFC Reserves. James Lloyd was the afternoon's standout performer with a well-taken treble, supported by strikes from Sam Christmas, Shaun Shrigley, Tim Ashbrook, and Josh Camey. Upton JFC Reserves offered spirited resistance through a Jord Mather brace and singles from Jamie Robinson and Aaron Rowland.
Meanwhile, Blacon Youth Reserves moved into third place—just two points off the pace—following a comprehensive 7-2 victory over Whitegate. Louie Gilmartin starred with a hat-trick, Harley Stewart struck twice, and Dylan Owens and Dan Ward completed the scoring. Robbie Jones and Adam Harvey provided the replies for Whitegate.
The CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Premier Division also saw Saturday action, as Blacon Vets condemned Hartford Vets to a 4-1 defeat. Danny Davies, Adam Cheers, James Henry, and Kev Garland did the damage for Blacon, while Jordon Oldham claimed a consolation for the visitors. Elsewhere in the division, a James McCaffrey brace and an Ed Moss strike guided Chester Nomads Vets to a narrow 3-2 win over Ellesmere Port Red Lions Vets, who replied through Luke Bradley and Gary Davidson.
The only tier to resist a change at the top was the Olympic Trophies Championship, where leaders Runcorn Town extended their relentless form. A 6-0 away victory at Hoole Rovers—courtesy of doubles by Ryan Bazley and Aaron Malone with further goals from, Jorge Orme, and Alex Sharp—moved them nine points clear. Their advantage was strengthened by a slip from nearest rivals Poulton Vics, who fell to a 3-0 defeat at Willaston thanks to goals from Joel Curtis, Dan Hooke, and Luke Massey.
In the division's other fixtures, Total Football Academy edged out The Grange 3-2 in a tight encounter, with Fikky Balogun, Liam Malone, and Harry Shepherd on the scoresheet. Wallasey Village secured a second consecutive win in style, defeating West Kirby United U18 7-1. Ellis Blenkinsop caught the eye with a five-goal haul, while Joey Simpson and Joseph Flynn completed the scoring.
It was the Vets Championship that delivered the afternoons high-scoring blockbuster as the top two sides went head-to-head. Eastham Vets ultimately took the spoils in a ten-goal thriller against Queens Park Vets, largely thanks to a four-goal haul from Joe Crane. Michael Jeffs and Gareth Lupton also scored for Eastham, while David Woods, Kevin Bimpson, David McElroy and Andrew Bolton responded for Queens.
Rounding off the action, Neston Nomads Vets (photo) enjoyed a successful road trip, returning from Frodsham Park Vets with a 3-1 win secured by goals from Adam Moore, Chris Helsby, and Nick Jones, with Thomas Whalley netting for the hosts.
