Six men charged following investigation into drug supply in Blacon

Six men who were arrested following an eight-month investigation into the supply of Class A drugs in Blacon have been charged.

  • Ryan Jones, 30, of Auckland Road, Blacon was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
  • Daniel Meredith, 35, of Stratford Road, Blacon was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. 
  • Dillon O’Gorman, 27, of Melbourne Road, Blacon was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. 
  • William Mead, 18, of Coleridge Close, Blacon was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
  • Brian Cooper, 52, of Plas Dinas, Blacon was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
  • Joshua Hill, 27, of Stratford Road, Blacon was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

They were all remanded to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 1 February. 

The charges relate to arrests made on Tuesday 31 January as part of nine warrants conducted in the Blacon area in connection with the supply of Class A drugs in the area.

Six men have been arrested during early morning strikes today (Tuesday 31 January) as part of a police investigation into the supply of cocaine in Blacon.

Officers raided nine addresses across Blacon following an eight-month investigation by Chester Proactive CID.

Six people, from Blacon were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs:

  • A 30-year-old man
  • A 35-year-old man
  • A 27-year-old man
  • An 18-year-old man
  • A 52-year-old man
  • A 27-year-old man

A quantity of drugs and cash have been seized during the activity.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Needham said: “Today we have disrupted a criminal enterprise that had attempted to infiltrate the streets of Blacon.

“Our officers have been working tirelessly to identify and detain each member of the gang following our lengthy investigation into the supply of cocaine in the area.

“Following the strikes today, patrols will remain in the area and I would urge any residents with concerns to speak to one of the officers.

“Action such as this shows how we are continuing in the fight against illegal drugs in our community and will continue to do all we can to disrupt these gangs from bringing these substances into Cheshire.”
