Match Preview: Chester FC Women v Tranmere Rovers Women

It’s cup competition for Chester FC Women this weekend as they face a tough challenge against Premier Division outfit Tranmere Rovers Women in the first round of the Argyle Sports Plate at Helsby Community Sports Club.

The Blues made it six successive wins in all competitions on Sunday with a convincing 5-1 win against local rivals Warrington, a game that saw Chester score four second half goals and move up to 4th place in the league. Martin Fitzsimons’ will be hoping his side can carry their good form into Sunday’s encounter and the belief that they can cause an upset against the premier side.

Sunday’s opponents Tranmere currently find themselves in 5th place in the table having won six of their fourteen games so far in the league this season, They come into this weekend’s game having lost their last three games in a row and with only one win in their last six outings in the league.
