Chester & Wirral Football League - Round Up

Here's this week's Chester & Wirral Football League Report...

Waggon & Horses moved into second place in the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division on Saturday as they ruthlessly dispatched of Sutton Rangers 11-1. Harley Benion hit 5 goals and MOM Ben barratt got 4 to along with singles for Caleb Rose and Gary Roberts. Ben Nimmo got Suttons consolation. Kelsall FC got their second win of the season courtesy of an Adam Pickering double, plus strikes from Michael Taylor and Dom Coates as they ran out 4-1 winners against Chester Nomads III who replied with a goal from James Lloyd.

Big winners of the day in the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship were Waggon & Horses and Upton JFC who both bagged plenty of goals. Adam Field netted a hattrick, Josh Haselden a brace and Brandon Garland, Kieran Dodd, Harris Dixon and Joe Henry all netted singles for Waggon in a 9-0 win against Sutton Rangers Reserves whilst Upton JFC hit Orange Athletic for 16 without reply as Joe Williams bagged a 5 timer, Cam Dewhurst a hattrick, a double for Caelen McGovern and singles for Luke Green, Andy Jones, Connor Ireland, Tom Gulzar, Josh Dymond and Ethan Ramsden. Cheshire Vikings beat Neston Nomads Reserves by the odd goal in seven with Vikings goals coming via a hattrick from Liam Keating and an Oscar Sergent effort. Neston’s goals came from Jack Ratcliffe, Chrissy Bushell and an own goal. Handbridge and Hoole Rovers played out a 3-3 draw to take a point each as Handbridge netted with goals from Adam Hodgson, Nath Moffatt and Declan McHugh but Hoole Rovers hit back with goals from Josh Brown, Rob Noon and an own goal. Cestrian Alex remain unbeaten and moved up to third with a 4-2 win against Farndon Reserves courtesy of a Josh Camy double plus goals from Chris Hibbert and Ashley Reed. Matty Sheridan bagged both goals for Farndon Reserves.

In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 3, Ashton Vets dispatched of Chester Nomads Vets winning 4-0 with Tom Harrison a two-goal hero plus Matt Edwards and James Miln also on target. Eastham Vets netted three times with strikes from Matty Gill, Dave Sadler and James Gill but Upton Vets also hit three of their own with efforts from Paul Ireland, Chris Melia and Dave Rockall as both teams had to settle for a point. FC Farndon Vets had Roy Cardus and Phillip Reeves on target, but Tarvin Vets scored four to take the points with Dave Taylor hitting a brace with Sean Taylor and Adam Butcher grabbing singles for Tarvin.

In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 4, Hoole Rangers Vets had three players hit doubles in their 7-2 victory against Great Sutton Vets.  Ash English, Dan Eborall and Alec Hutchinson all bagged two each and Adam Roper a single whilst Kev Valentine also bagging a brace for Great Sutton Vets.  Dee Rangers Vets had Carl Fowlie on target with two goals to go along with a Sam Hassel goal as they beat FC Vaults vets 3-2 who’s consolation goals came from Keith Roberts and Richie Aspey. Nags Head Bunbury Vets had a two-goal hero in Henry Buckley and with singles from Paul Fenton and Alex Morrisroe they ran out 4-2 victors against Frodsham Park who netted via goals from Wayne Clark and Gaz Gerrard.

In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 5, Wirral masters Vets raced into a 2-goal lead with goals from Aaron Buckley and Aaron Doyle but by half time found themselves 3-2 down as Port Sunlight Vets struck back.  Sunlight then added another goal to see out the game in the 2^nd half.  Sunlight’s goals came from two penalties by Mike Williams a single from Matt Nayland and an own goal. Witton Vets had Oliver James on target with a double, plus singles from Dan Hollan and Scott McGauley gave them a 4-2 win against Rake & Pikel who netted through goals from Mark Hughes and goalkeeper Jonathan Shingfield also grabbing a rare goal. In an end-to-end game Frodsham Park Reserves Vets won by the odd goal in five against Poulton Athletic Vets.  Duane Millington, Mike Burke and Kev Griffiths netting for Frodsham whilst Andy Perry bagged both Poulton goals.
