Here are last weekend's results from the Cheshire Women's Cricket League...
Division One
Lindow started the defence of their first title in fine fashion. Despite a mid-innings revival, Stockport Georgians managed just 115 with four wickets for Grace Hemsted and three for Claire Ashworth. Heidi Cheadle’s 80 from 83 balls completed a nine-wicket win in a hurry.
On a day of some fairly low scores in the first division, the Didsbury-Oakmere match bucked the trend. Didsbury’s opening stand was only broken from the final ball of the first innings, with 188 already on the board. Roshini Prince-Navaratnam becomes the first top-flight centurion of the year, finishing unbeaten on exactly 100, with Isabelle Hevican adding another 65. Oakmere’s reply started well with an opening stand of 89, and they kept up the chase almost to the end, finishing 12 runs shy. Kerry Hartnett’s 41 was the top score, while Sasha Turnock took 4-31.
Last year’s runners up Chester Boughton Hall kicked off with a win over newly promoted Northop Hall, albeit after a significant scare. Poppy Smith top scored with 30 in Northop Hall’s 93 all out, then took five early wickets with the ball. From 34-5, Boughton Hall were indebted to Georgia Munro’s 54.
Leyland overhauled their target of 132 with five wickets and more than 16 overs in hand. Hannah Snape’s 60 not out from 46 balls was the standout contribution. Amelia Buckley top scored for Leigh in the first innings with 37, where there were also three-wicket hauls for Emma Duerden and Charlotte Whitaker.
Division Two
Another first day centurion was Hayfield’s Alice Dyson, whose knock of 108 took her side to 197-2. Louise Long and Alex Wilson made scores in the 30s in the second innings, but Lindow 2nd soon fell behind the required rate.
Division Three West
Nantwich second team recorded a comfortable win over newly promoted Runcorn, bowling them out for just 71. Jen Dickinson’s 3-8 included wickets with both of her first two balls. Beatrice Harris made 35 not out in an eight-wicket win.
Division Three East
Whalley Range won every game comfortably in Division Four East last year, and they were in fine form here in their first outing in the third tier. Hannah Price’s 95 not out was the most eye-catching contribution in a total of 167-7. Rachel Monteath’s 34 not out held together a New Mills reply that struggled to 76-6.
There was a swift win for Buxton, who dismissed Heaton Mersey & Cheadle for 32 in a seven-wicket win. (Alice-Olivia Tremble 3-4).
Macclesfield topped a run per ball in amassing 183-3 against North East Cheshire (Autum Greensmith 66*, Annabelle Morton 51). Jane Vayro’s 39 was the top score in North East’s reply of 134.

KNOCKOUT CUPS
Northwich will host the 2026 finals of the 2026 Knockout Cup and Development Knockout Cup on 23rd August. The re-arranged 2025 finals of these competitions are at Grappenhall on 3rd May.
REPRESENTATIVE CRICKET
Ellie Mason captained Cheshire for the first time and had a superb day personally in the T20 double header away to Staffordshire, but she was only on the winning side in one of the two matches. Mason’s 54 and 5-13 was not enough to prevent a six-run defeat in the morning match, but her unbeaten 79 from 57 balls in the second encounter inspired her side to an unassailable 143-3 later in the day. Emily Page took three wickets as Staffordshire fell 38 runs short.
