Despite a positive performance, Chester FC Women were eliminated from the Alliance Design & Print Cup, in extra time by higher league opposition FC United yesterday.
The visitors, who play a division above the Blues, took the lead on the half hour mark courtesy of a stunning strike from distance by Mia Hayes.
Chester pressed for an equaliser as Erin Parr fired just over, before they got their leveller with just seven minutes to play, as sub Chloe Davis crossed for Ellie Bradley to fire an excellent finish into the top corner.
That goal took the game to extra time, and Hayes scored again to win the game with another goal from distance to see the visitors advance.
A strong showing from the Seals, who are at home again on Sunday against Stockport County in the Cheshire Cup Semi Final.
CHESTER: Doherty, Richardson, Kelso, Sconce, Owen, Dowell, Williams, Lee, Gray, Parr, Bradley.
SUBS: Mallon, Davis, Redman, Morris, Smith.
SCORER: Bradley 83.
