A goalless draw ensured the Blues secured a play-off berth for the second successive season.
A fast-paced opening period for the Blues yielded no goals but showed plenty of endeavour towards the Linnets 18-yard box.
Lewis Leigh had the first effort as the midfielder broke into space but saw his effort fly into the palms of Aaron Chapman in the away goal.
Leigh and Weeks worked well during the first 45 minutes and the latter set up the next opportunity, when his delightful cross found Dylan Mottley-Henry who nodded narrowly wide from just inside the area.
The next to go close was Fin Shrimtpon, who struck comfortably wide from an acute angle, before Connor Woods’ header across goal failed to find a Chester player inside the six-half box.
Our number 14 had the ball in the net before the break but it was disallowed due to a foul in the build-up.
The second period started in a very similar manner, with Leigh and Weeks both going close early on from narrowly outside the 18-yard box.
The closest either side came to breaking the deadlock was through Shrimpton on the hour-mark, as he spun in the box and fired a powerful effort that bounced directly back off the crossbar and flew to safety.
Connell Rawlinson’s men continued to press the Linnets back towards their 18-yard box but failed to find a way through, despite numerous late penalty shouts and a drilled strike from Leigh that stung the palms of Chapman.
Results meant that both sides completed their objectives at the start of day though despite the goalless draw, with the Blues securing a play-off trip to Macclesfield whilst King’s Lynn’s point secured another campaign at this level.
