Teenagers charged following assaults in Chester

Two teenagers have been charged with multiple offences following a series of assaults in Chester, including the assault of a police officer.

The charges relate to reports of an altercation in Foregate Street, Chester, at around 7.45pm on Thursday 6th August, involving a group of youths.

A 14-year-old boy from North Wales was charged with affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, five counts of common assault, one count of section 18 assault, assaulting an emergency worker occasioning actual bodily harm and escape from lawful custody.

A 16-year-old boy, also from North Wales, was charged with common assault, assaulting an emergency worker occasioning actual bodily harm and aiding escape from lawful custody.

Both boys will appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 19th August.

A further three teenage boys, all aged 13, were arrested in relation to the incident and have since been released on bail.
