Local home care company, Home Instead Chester is celebrating the launch of their new monthly Companionship Cafés.
Organised by their Community Engagement team, the first get together was held at The Vicars Cross Community Centre in Chester and saw local people come together for a chat over a nice cup of tea and enjoy some arts and crafts activities.
Home Instead Chester’s Operations Manager, Rebecca Bradley said: “We’re delighted to be able to invest in supporting our local community through these events. After such a difficult couple of years brought about by the COVID pandemic, followed by a cost-of-living crisis, through what seems to have been a long winter, it’s so lovely to welcome people to a place where they can simply relax and enjoy some stimulating company, in a comfortable environment”.
Rebecca continued: “The first event was such a success and it was so lovely to see people from our local community come along to have a chat and make new friends. Loneliness can be very difficult for the elderly so we’re hopeful our Companionship Cafés will have a big impact”.
Taking place every second Wednesday of the each month, the Companionship Cafés will be held at The Vicars Cross Community Centre from 12:30pm until 2:00pm. There is no charge to attend a session and anyone in later life, their carers, family and friends are invited to come along to the café as a chance for like-minded people to enjoy some stimulating activities.
