Officers investigating a report of courier fraud in Cheshire have charged a man in relation to the incident.
Sharmarke Ahmed, of Brixton Road, London, was arrested on Tuesday 1st April.
The 34-year-old has since been charged with fraud by false representation.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 3rd April.
The charge relates to reports of courier fraud in the Malpas area of Cheshire on Wednesday 5th March in which a courier pretended to be acting on behalf of police to cause loss to another.
Detective Inspector Ross Hamilton said:
“We are continuing to see reports of courier fraud across the county and would urge residents to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious.”
