The CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets leagues have seen a sweeping restructure across all divisions, throwing the title races wide open. Mersey Royal Vets have departed the league after nine years dominating the top tier, Only Sefton Vets and Higher Bebington Kelma Vets remain from last years Division One now named “The CWFL Tarvin Precision Premier Division”. Under the Friday night lights at the Bidston astro, newly promoted Division Two champions Birkenhead Vets announced their arrival into the Premier Division with a comprehensive 6-2 victory over Blacon Vets. Lee Gibson stole the show for the hosts with a four-goal haul, including a perfect hat-trick, Mark Macnoon also chipped in with a brace. Blacon Vets offered replies through consolation goals from Adam Cheers and James Henry.

The goalscoring frenzy continued into Saturday as Higher Bebington Kelma Vets edged out newly promoted Ellesmere Port Red Lions Vets in a thrilling eleven-goal spectacular. A double from Eamon Bhualfia alongside solitary strikes from Craig Cairns, Alex Ramsey, JP Wheadon, and Si Tierney eventually got Kelma over the line. Red Lions played their part in the classic with a brace from Luke Bradley and further goals via Gray Davidson, James Hudson, and Mike Flavell. Elsewhere, Chester Nomads Vets secured a hard-earned 3-2 victory on the road at Sefton Vets thanks to goals from Andy Lloyd, Dan Delgado, and Mike Jeffs, which cancelled out a double from Sefton's David Stafford.

In the Queensferry Sports Premier Division, Riptide FC—formerly playing last season as Clarence FC—made it two wins from two on Friday evening. Driven by a clinical hat-trick from Ben Morris, they edged out Handbridge 4-3 to keep maximum points and stay hot on the heels of leaders Upton JFC Reserves, Jamie Payne also netted for Riptide while Handbridge’s consolation goals came from a Luke Allen brace and a Ryan Bradley strike.  In another tight Friday encounter, Blacon Youth Reserves secured a narrow 3-2 victory away at Elton FC thanks to goals from Dyl Owen, Lewis Ball and Joe Jones despite the hosts scoring twice through Reece Davies and Joseph Layzell.

Saturday’s Premier Division action saw a ruthless display from Upton JFC Reserves, who dismantled last season’s Championship winners FC Farndon in a 13-0 route. Both Mark Proctor and Jo Williams claimed hat-tricks, while Chris Bennett, Daniel Evans, Matty Wood, Hal Senturk, Jack Robinson, Ben Woodman, and Jo Murphey all joined in on the scoring. Meanwhile, Jack Delgado netted a superb hat-trick to anchor a 5-3 away win for Chester Nomads 3rds at Whitegate. Josh Camy and George Cornes completed the Nomads' scoring, while Sam Eves scored twice and Harry Fairweather grabbed a third for the hosts.

In the Championship, Poulton Vics assumed leadership at the summit following a resounding 7-0 victory against West Kirby FC U23. Alfie Naylor hit a hat-trick, Callum Maddocks secured a brace, Lewis Buckley and Joel Foster added the gloss.

Runcorn Sports Development sit closely behind in second on goal difference after replicating that 7-0 scoreline away at The Grange FC. Ryan Bazley led the charge with a hat-trick, supported by goals from Casey Ainge, Adam Cawley, Jack Hunter, and Jorje Orme. West Kirby United took maximum points from their trip to Hoole Rovers with a gritty 2-0-win courtesy of strikes from Pascal Nugent and Shay Heller. The spoils were shared between Willaston FC and Cestrian in a 2-2 draw; Mark Lye and Luke Massey scored for Willaston, while Jack Williams converted a penalty alongside a Mike Taylor goal for the visitors.

In the newly revamped CWFL Vets Championship, Frodsham Vets opened their account with a 3-1 win over West Kirby Vets (Juston Macdonald) thanks to goals from William Beales, Chris Cunningham, and Simon Spinillo. Neston Nomads Vets also secured an opening-day win, defeating Upton JFC 2-1 with decisive strikes from Ben Pearson and Nick Jones, while Andy Murphey responded for Upton.

Cheshire Vikings Vets, last season’s unbeaten, Division 5 winners, had a rude awakening in the only game in the Tarvin Precision Vets Division One, despite a goal from Jack Towers Vikings slipped to a 2-1 defeat as Stuart Scheuber was on target twice for Weverton Vets to seal the victory.
