Walking Home For Christmas

Two brothers from Chester are walking 12 miles a day for 12 days, after work, in aid of Walking with the Wounded.

WWTW supports disadvantaged veterans who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, empowering them to regain their independence, thrive and contribute in our communities.
Mike is the veteran and his brother Andrew has written the following info on their Walking Home for Christmas     fundraising page.
Since leaving the Army in 2017, Mike has battled with PTSD and all the associated struggles with adjusting to civilian life. In 2018, he found his stride again, getting himself back in shape and focussing on his fitness. With that, Mike saw his mental health improve and the (now obvious) links it has to his physical exercise. But there was still this massive adjustment period to overcome.
This is why Walking With The Wounded is so important to us, it helps remind us of the burdens that many service men and women carry on our behalf. Past, present and future. Some carry, mental scars and some carry physical.
Mike has certainly  “ thrived and contributed in our community” and together they have  gone on to found Frontline Fitness , who among other things, offer free Bootcamp sessions to veterans, NHS staff a blue light services.  Starting in January, Mike will also be providing free Bootcamp sessions in the park, using funding we got through Sports England and Sanctuary Housing, to help get people active.
Two really nice men who want to give back to society.
