Countess of Chester Country Park retains the coveted Green Flag Award

Green space management charity, the Land Trust is celebrating after retaining the Green Flag Award for the Countess of Chester Country Park in Cheshire for the sixth year running.

The news that Countess of Chester Country Park has retained the accreditation - the international quality mark for parks and green spaces - is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team that care for the green space so that everyone can enjoy it.

Nationally the scheme is celebrating as 2,216 parks – the largest number since the scheme began 27 years ago – are proudly preparing to raise their flags.

Alan Carter, Chief Executive at the Land Trust said:

“We are delighted Countess of Chester Country Park has retained its Green Flag Award. Along with our managing partner, The Conservation Volunteers, we take great pride in managing the site which provides a well-kept green space for the local community to enjoy and also an environment where nature and biodiversity can thrive.”

Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award Scheme Manager Paul Todd MBE said:

“I would like to congratulate everyone involved at Countess of Chester Country Park in achieving a Green Flag Award.

“Countess of Chester Country Park is a vital green space for the community and for wildlife, bringing people together and providing opportunities to lead healthy lifestyles. The teams do so much to ensure that it maintains the high standards of the Green Flag Award and everyone involved should feel extremely proud of their achievement.”
