An 8-0 triumph over Liverpool Feds Reserves yesterday saw Chester FC Women record an eighth win on the bounce in the NWWRL Division One South.
The recent streak has propelled Kalvin Williams’ side into title contention, with the Blues currently five points off league leaders Nantwich Town, but with a game in hand over the Dabbers.
A standout performance on Sunday arrived courtesy of midfielder Ciara Lee, who netted five at Jericho Lane Sports Hub, with the other goals coming from Sasha Johnson, Lola Smith, and Emma Clausen.
“To have won eight games on the bounce, scoring 34 goals and conceding just four, shows how much credit the players deserve.”
The winning run began with a pair of gritty away victories, both by a 3-1 scoreline away at Warrington Town and Runcorn Linnets, before a stunning 6-0 success at the Deva over Wirral Pheonix.
Cup action saw 2025’s action come to an end with a 2-0 win over Manchester Laces in the Alliance Design & Print Cup, a result that has set up a tie with Atherton Laburnum Rovers down CH1 next Sunday.
Four fixtures have passed in 2026 and the Seals have already found the net on 20 occasions, courtesy of dominant wins over Macclesfield, AFC Crewe, Warrington Town, and Liverpool Feds Reserves.
Five league outings remain for Williams’ side who will attempt to put further pressure on the summit of the division, four of which will be played at the Deva Stadium – Ticket prices for Women’s games down CH1 are £5 for Adults and £3 for Concessions, while Under 16s can gain admission for free.
“I believe the support of the people of Chester could really push us on to advance in the cup on Sunday, to keep the pressure on Nantwich, and to make this title race exciting until the final day of the season.”
On his team’s recent form, Kalvin said: “We have been superb throughout this run of games. The players have been putting in the work on the training ground, jumping through obstacles and proving people wrong.
“You look at the starting XI from Sunday, we have eight players under the age of 21 and all four players on the bench are under the age of 21. To have won eight games on the bounce, scoring 34 goals and conceding just four, shows how much credit the players deserve.
“To go from where we were to just five points behind Nantwich shows how hard the group have worked, and therefore we are just going to enjoy the rest of the season and see what happens.
“For me, the standout performances have been Runcorn away and Manchester laces away, after the initial game was abandoned we controlled the game and came away with a 2-0 win. I believe the support of the people of Chester could really push us on to advance in the cup on Sunday, to keep the pressure on Nantwich, and to make this title race exciting until the final day of the season.”
