Chester and Wirral Football League - Weekend Round Up

Here are the latest scores from the Chester and Wirral Football League...

CWFL action was severely curtailed by Storm Boelo, though a handful of cup ties managed to beat the elements:

In the Life Members Cup, M.U.C United progressed with an entertaining 5-3 victory over Hoole Rovers. Adam Hagger proved the difference with a fine hat-trick, while Jami Muhammad and Emmanuel Ramutsamaya completed the scoring for United.

Elsewhere, youth won out over experience as Upton JFC Reserves travelled to Great Sutton Vets and returned with a comprehensive 7-1 win. The goals were shared around, with Connor Ireland, Jord Mather, Jack Rowland, Joe Williams, Josh Robbo, Aaron Rowland and Olly Edgell all finding the net.

In a similar matchup, an in-form Chester Nomads Thirds side hit nine past Birkenhead Vets without reply. Will Jones led the way with a clinical hat-trick, supported by braces from James Lloyd and Charlie Orsler, alongside further efforts from Trey Lattie and Josh Camy.

Poulton Vics returned to winning ways by dispatching Ellesmere Port Red Lions 6-1. Callum Maddocks and Alfie Naylor both bagged doubles, with Callum Gibson and Evan Perry completing the tally. Meanwhile, Sefton Vets safely secured their place in the next round with a comfortable 6-0 home win against Frodsham Park Vets Reserves, courtesy of an Adam Millington brace and single strikes from David Pennel, Jamie Hay, Eammon Price and Neil Storey.

In the Northern Cup first round, Handbridge produced a strong away performance to progress with a 2-1 win at Winsford Town. There was less fortune for the league’s other entrants, however, as Higher Bebington Kelma Vets, Cheshire Vikings Vets and Cestrian Alex were all eliminated.
