Great Sutton Reserves moved to the top of the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship after edging Sutton Rangers Reserves 3–2, a result that ended Higher Bebington Kelma Reserves’ long spell at the summit. Joe Tittle struck twice, and Zach Cotgrave added another to secure the crucial victory.
In the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division, the only fixture of the weekend saw Upton JFC Reserves claim a comfortable 3–0 win over Cestrian Alex. Max Oldfield netted a double, with Jordan Mather also finding the target.
Capenhurst Vets booked their place in the semi-finals of the Vets FA Cheshire Cup after a 5–2 win against Division Two side Neston Nomads Vets. Simon Thelwell led the scoring with a brace, while Lewis Walters, Matthew Hickson and Matthew Concannon also found the net. Liam Jeacock and Lee Stokes replied for Nomads.
In Tarvin Precision Vets Division Five, Cheshire Vikings Vets maintained their perfect start with a 4–1 victory over Port Sunlight Vets. Michael Large grabbed two, with John Pomphrett and Stuart Hardman also on the scoresheet.
Frodsham Park Vets recorded their second league win of the season with a 3–0 success against Great Sutton Vets, thanks to goals from Will Beales, Nick Foxon and Christopher Cunningham. Saughall Vets saw Sam Marshall score twice and Mike Taylor once, but they slipped to a 4–3 defeat as FC Vaults Vets edged a lively encounter.
This Weekend will see the second round of the CWFL Life Members Cup take place with some interesting fixtures to look forward to, unbeaten Vets Division Two side Birkenhead Vets will make the short trip to take on Championship highflyers Higher Bebington Kelma Reserves, Meanwhile Kelma Vets will host open age Championship side Frodsham Park.
Big game of the day will see new Championship leaders Great Sutton Reserves host Premier Division title challengers Newton Athletic, meanwhile Waverton Vets have a tough ask as they host FC Farndon.
M.U.C United will hope to take championship scoring form into their fixture against Premier Division side Upton JFC Reserves.
