Chester FC has announced that Calum McIntyre has been named Vanarama National League North Manager of the Month for January 2025.
The Blues have made a sensational start to the calendar year, and in the opening month of 2025 won six of their seven games – drawing the other with Southport on New Year’s Day.
In that time, four clean sheets were kept, conceding just five times and scoring 18 goals.
The Blues Boss wins the accolade for the third time, after also claiming the prize in November 2022 and October 2023.
Calum was quick to heap praise on his staff and players after being given the award, saying:
“Individual recognition can feel great but I’ve always referenced that this award belongs to the entire group involved with the team.
“A manager leads a football team and our team consists of outstanding players, outstanding staff and even better people. The players deliver the performances on the pitch and the staff support them in achieving those aims. The manager is simply one part of that, and this award should be awarded collectively to everyone involved.
“January was a great month and led into a great start to February last week at Peterborough Sports. I was really pleased with the results we achieved and the performances. We have never been too far away and 2025 (so far) has seen us come out on the right side of those finer margins that perhaps we didn’t earlier on in the season. The players deserve massive credit for the way they have delivered these results.
“A final word for the supporters, particularly those that have travelled in numbers to the five away fixtures since mid-January. Your backing has been immense and is greatly appreciated by the team. You have a team that are giving and will continue to give everything.
“Let’s see where that takes us.”
