POPULAR CHESTER MUSICIAN CELEBRATES SUCCESS OF TOWN HALL CONCERTS

A popular Chester violinist who recently staged two highly successful concerts at Chester Town Hall has announced plans for two festive concerts.

Philip Chidell, best known for his performances in Chester city centre, was joined on stage at the Town Hall by his orchestra and several special guests - singers Ruby Lewin  and Shea Ferron and dancers from the Northern Ballet School. Philip was also delighted to welcome The Lord Mayor of Chester, Councillor Margaret Parker to the evening concert.

The concerts featured performances of popular classical favourites including "Nimrod" from Elgar's Enigma Variations, "The Blue Danube Waltz" and music from the Last Night of The Proms including the famous "Hornpipe" and "Rule Britannia", much to the delight of the large and enthusiastic audiences.

Speaking about the concerts, Philip said:

"We were delighted to welcome more than 500 people to our two concerts at Chester Town Hall last month. It was particularly lovely to see so many local faces in the audience, alongside others who had travelled from as far as London, Cardiff and the Lake District. We were also pleased to welcome Chester’s Lord Mayor for the evening performance. A huge thank you to everybody who attended!”

Philip has now unveiled plans for two special Christmas concerts which are set to take place at Chester Town Hall on Thursday 3rd December at 2.30pm and 7pm. The concerts will once again feature Philip, his orchestra of no fewer than 20 hand-picked talented musicians plus special guests performing a whole host of festive favourites with tickets already selling fast.
