The dewinter Agency is celebrating its 30th birthday – and helping local causes at the same time.
The Chester-based firm is offering free advice to charities during 30 of its lunch hours to support them on their journey, focusing on areas such as creating a marketing plan, refreshing a brand and logo, setting up a social media advert, and much more.
Cheshire West Voluntary Action (CWVA), in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council, is running a Year of Volunteering campaign, aiming to raise the profile of volunteering and increase the number of opportunities available across the borough. CWVA’s volunteer-matching website helps people find the right opportunity for them and each month during the campaign will focus on a different theme.
There are often misconceptions about volunteering as there is often a role to suit each person and their own interests.
A theme has been given to each month during the campaign and, with March labelled Micro Volunteering Month, dewinter’s offer is a perfect example of how businesses can make a real difference in their community.
Helen Lightfoot, dewinter Senior Manager, explained: “We didn’t want to celebrate in the standard way so we thought we’d do something where we could give back to the local community.
“We could be walking around looking for some lunch, but we’re doing something worthwhile for some very good causes.
“We work with a lot of different clients, but it’s been nice to meet some of the charities out there in our community and find out more about the great work they do.
“A lot of charities are trying to better themselves so we’re pleased to be able to offer them a little help.
“A lot of our sessions have been about social media and which platforms are best for their organisation. When people land on their pages, we want their audience to get a good impression and visit them again.
“We’ve really enjoyed meeting different charities and we’re looking forward to working with some more over the coming months.”
At all times, the Council is not endorsing, recommending, or otherwise engaged with any of the companies in or associated with this campaign. Any case studies that are featured as part of the Year of Volunteering campaign are aimed solely to highlight their volunteer work as a positive example of how it can make a real difference to the local community.
