University of Chester students are inviting people to put their detective skills to the test as they host a murder mystery experience to raise money for charity.
Events Management students are running the ‘I Do or Do I?’ escape room challenge, in aid of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, at the Music Hall Tap in Chester, on Friday, February 28th.
Fans of whodunnits have the opportunity to solve the mystery set at the wedding of Eric and Elena, on what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives, but which has quickly turned into the worst.
The immersive experience promises a fun activity, working together in groups of six to eight to unravel the mystery. Teams will have one hour on the clock to delve deep into the crime scene, discovering clues and evidence to uncover the truth. Time slots run between 12pm and 7pm.
Food and drink will be available after completion of the escape room, with a specially developed menu for the sleuths to enjoy.
The four students who have joined together as Beyond Events to run the experience have also organised a raffle, and tickets can be purchased during the event, with a range of prizes to be won. This will be drawn the following day and prizes will be sent to the lucky winner.
Sophia Davies, Head of Marketing for Beyond Events, said:
“Creating this event has been so exciting and watching it develop has been amazing. I am really looking forward to our event, and seeing all of our hard work come to life and create an immersive experience for all the attendees.”
Hannah Walsh, Community Fundraiser at Clatterbridge Cancer Charity added:
“On behalf of everyone at Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, I want to say a huge thankyou to Sarah Ellis, Lauren Gillbanks, Sophia Davies and Md Rohan from the University of Chester for choosing to support us with their murder mystery they have planned as part of their Events Management course.
“Their generosity and hard work are truly appreciated, and it’s wonderful to see their enthusiasm for making a difference. I hope the event goes brilliantly, and we’re so grateful for your support in helping us transform cancer care. Best of luck - we can’t wait to hear all about it.”
The event will help to raise both funds and awareness for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, supporting the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. One of the UK’s leading cancer centres, it provides highly specialist cancer treatment through its unique network of care, across Cheshire and Merseyside. The money raised will help to fund vital research, innovations, equipment, care and support.
Tickets for ‘I Do…or Do I?’ include a welcome drink and a strip of raffle tickets.
