SmartWater is a forensic marking liquid which allows property to be traceable back to the owner if stolen.
It acts as a deterrent to combat burglaries, robberies and theft.
SmartWater (when dry) is invisible to the naked eye however under UV light it will glow bright green.
Each bottle of SmartWater has a unique chemical code which is unique to each bottle of SmartWater. This chemical code is then given a unique nine digit series of numbers which is then registered to the owner of the property.
Every North Wales Police Officer has now been issued a dual function torch with UV light capabilities in order to search property for traces of SmartWater.
SmartWater Home Security Packs retail at £59.50 per pack however with the North Wales Police discount code you can get a SmartWater Home Security Pack for £25.
One bottle of SmartWater can mark up to 80 items which works out at 32p per item (with the discount code applied).
SmartWater has seen success in Gwent Police and West Mercia Police.
