Nearly one hundred school children are taking over Chester Zoo for the day this Friday (12July).
On Friday 12th July, kids from eleven different schools in the region will do everything from running conservation education programmes, workshops and animal talks to the zoo’s visitors.
You’ll see kids on the microphone at the penguin pool talking to dozens of visitors about the threats they face due to our changing climate, children at the zoo’s new Himalayan snow leopard habitat talking about climate change and how we can all make a difference by making sustainable choices.
They’ll also be sharing all the environmental issues that matter to them as the next generation of conservationists!
This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to have a voice for nature and to champion key environmental messages to visitors, from the impact of climate change, unsustainable palm oil to why so many precious species are on the bridge of extinction.
