Police in Chester have charged a 61-year-old man with attempted murder.
The charge follows an investigation into the serious assault on a 57-year-old man from Chester who remains in a critical but stable condition.
Police were called to Alder Grove at 3pm on 3 October following a report of a seriously injured man in the street.
A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has since been charged.
Paul Andrews, 61, from Alder Grove, Chester will appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on Saturday 5 October.
