Police officers have arrested a man following a serious collision in Doddleston, near Chester.
Shortly after 2.30am today, Saturday 7th February, police were called to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a blue Kia Sportage, while walking on Church Lane, in Doddleston.
Officers attended the scene and the pedestrian was found to have sustained serious injuries.
The man was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital where his condition is currently described as stable.
The driver of the car, a 58-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and is currently being held in police custody.
The road was closed while officers dealt with the incident, it reopened shortly after 9am.
Detective Inspector Martin Caldwell said:
“This investigation is in its early stages and Police continue to make enquiries regarding the collision.
“I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with any video footage to get in touch."
