Illegal vapes and tobacco have been seized in a raid at a convenience store in Mold.
The shop was targeted in a joint operation by Flintshire County Council Trading Standards, North Wales Police and immigration services.
A significant quantity of illicit tobacco was seized along with illegal vapes and suspected counterfeit alcohol.
The operation was carried out as part of a national initiative known as Operation CeCe, an enforcement campaign aimed at disrupting the supply of illegal tobacco and related products, which can pose serious risks to public health and undermine legitimate local businesses.
Councillor Ted Palmer, Cabinet Member for Highways, Assets and Public Protection, said:
“Selling illegal tobacco, vapes and counterfeit alcohol is not a victimless crime. These products often bypass safety checks, which puts people’s health at risk.
“Illegal sales of these products also takes money away from honest local traders who operate within the law, and is often linked to wider criminal activity.
“This operation demonstrates our continued commitment to working with partners to tackle illegal trading and protect our communities. We will not hesitate to take action where concerns are identified.”
Residents are encouraged to report suspected illegal sales to Flintshire County Council Trading Standards by emailing:
