Officers are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Ellesmere Port.
At 3pm on Monday 26 June, police were called following reports of an assault in a supermarket car park on Chester Road.
During the incident, a man had been sitting in his work van when he was punched multiple times through the window, causing facial injuries.
Paramedics attended and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.
A 32-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.
PC Ryan Evans of the Area Investigation Team said:
“This was a serious attack and our enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information which may aid enquiries to come forward.
