Secure A Guaranteed Teaching Placement as Part of Cheshire College’s NEW Graduate PGCE Programme

Applications have opened for Cheshire College’s inaugural Teacher Graduate Programme, which offers a full-time PGCE programme and guaranteed teaching placement all under the same roof.

With more financial support now available for those training to teach within the Further Education sector, graduates could gain a bursary of £26,000 whilst completing the College’s programme.

Opening its doors to those who aspire to teach English, mathematics, science, computing or engineering within Further Education, Cheshire’s largest provider of post-16 education is providing outstanding graduates with a unique learning and teaching experience like never before.

Successful candidates for the Graduate Teaching Programme will enrol on to the College’s popular PGCE course, whilst teaching 18 hours a week at one of the College’s three Campuses in Crewe, Ellesmere Port or Chester to gain real work experience.

James Eagney, Assistant Principal at Cheshire College, said: “Our new Teacher Graduate Programme is a brilliant opportunity for graduates who are finishing university this year and are looking to take their first step into teaching. The funding now available for those training to teach within Further Education has been a welcomed addition within the sector and, along with a guaranteed placement as part of the programme, graduates could also benefit from a bursary of up to £26,000 by completing their PGCE course with us.

“As well as being taught by an expert team for the theoretical side of the course, graduates will also to be able to train on the job in outstanding facilities with the same experienced staff to help support their academic, professional and personal growth.”

On successful completion of the programme, the College will invite the newly qualified teachers for interview for any internal vacancies that exist at the time within the relevant department they have trained in.

In order to apply for the programme, graduates should have a good honors degree of a 2:1 or higher, a Level 3 qualification in the subject they wish to teach, GCSE grades 4/C in both English and mathematics and a true passion to teach in Further Education.

With ‘highly-effective’ education programmes, as praised by Ofsted who rated the College ‘Good’ in its most recent inspection, Cheshire College provides learners with a fulfilling and rewarding experience which empowers them to achieve their full academic potential.

Applications for the College’s Teacher Graduate Programme close at 5pm on 29th April 2021. To find out more and apply click here.
