Police Dog Enzo is Cheshire Constabulary Dog Unit’s newest qualified police dog.
PD Enzo, who is working alongside his handler PC Kate Sheehan, successfully completed his intensive training course this week and is now officially licensed as a General Purpose Dog.
After weeks of hard work, commitment and professionalism from PC Sheehan, Enzo is ready to take to the streets of Cheshire and play his part in keeping our communities safe by helping to make Cheshire a hostile place for criminals.
Inspector Nick Bamber said:
“PC Sheehan has worked tirelessly to meet the demanding standards required in this specialist area of policing.
“What’s often unseen is the level of skill and discipline required of our handlers, who train continuously, maintain rigorous operational standards and undergo regular re-licensing.
“Every deployment is the product of a wider team effort, from the handler on the ground to the specialist trainers and kennel staff whose expertise ensures our dogs work safely, lawfully and effectively.
“Our specialist training team’s professionalism and dedication has been central to Enzo and Kate’s development so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them for all their hard work in training up another formidable crimefighting team.”
