Residents encouraged to have their say on Council’s adult social care strategy

West Cheshire residents are being encouraged to have their say on the Council’s vision for adult social care for the next four years.

The Enabling Great Lives strategy, produced with residents, community sector partners and adult social care council staff, reaffirms the Council’s commitment to enable people within the borough’s communities to live great lives.

It recognises the vital role communities play in supporting people to thrive and commits to providing the care and support people need, in the place they call home, by a skilled and compassionate workforce.

Consultation on the strategy is now open until Sunday, May 19, and residents can share their views in many different ways.

Cabinet member for adult social care, Councillor Sheila Little, said:

“We know that to enable great lives we not only have to support people to reach and maintain their maximum potential for independence, we also have to work with partners to support our local communities to thrive.

“Our Enabling Great Lives draft strategy sets out our ambitions to improve adult social care services over the next four years, and work with people in west Cheshire and all our partners to turn our ambitions into reality.

“Social care has never been more prominent in our daily lives and need for our services is increasing. We are seeing a big rise in the need for care and support every year, and we want to make sure our services can meet this need and support people to thrive.

“Our strategy brings to life the learning and commitments made through our Future of Adult Social Care Commission and our engagement and consultation activity over the past two years. We would like to hear from everyone who has a view to ensure that this strategy reflects local people’s needs. Please take the time to share your views, in any of the variety of different ways available.”
