Pop up and walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics offer vaccines for all over the age of 18

Walk-in pop-up vaccination clinics will be operating in Chester next week, offering COVID-19 vaccinations to all adults over the age of 18.

The mobile clinics have been able to offer the Pfizer vaccine to any adult over the age of 18 from this week [w/b 28 June] and demand has been constant.

The Pfizer vaccine is available to all as a first dose and as a second dose to those who have already one dose of Pfizer, providing there is an eight-week gap between doses.

No appointment is necessary to attend the free mobile clinics.

The programme of walk-in clinics for week beginning Monday, 5 July, will be:

  • Monday, 5 July - Chester Cathedral (Pfizer)
  • Tuesday, 6 July - no roving clinic
  • Wednesday, 7 July - no roving clinic
  • Thursday, 8 July - no roving clinic
  • Friday, 9 July - Cheshire Oaks (Pfizer)
  • Saturday, 10 July - Cheshire Oaks (Pfizer)

All clinics will run from 10am to 4pm (or for as long as vaccine supplies last).  There is no need to book an appointment in advance – just turn up on the day.

There will also be a walk-in clinic at Vicars Cross Pharmacy, Oldfield Drive, Chester on Saturday, 3 July, from 1.30pm until 6.30pm with stocks of both Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines and then an Pfizer only walk in clinic at the Ellesmere Port Vaccination Centre at Civic Hall, Civic Way on Sunday 4 July from 2pm until 6pm.

For those unable to attend, appointments can be booked at alternative venues through the National Booking Service either online at:

www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination

or by phoning: 119.

Cllr Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “It has been fabulous to see people queuing up to get a vaccine at the walk-in clinics, especially the 18 to 29 year olds who are now able to access the Pfizer vaccine.

“The more people who get vaccinated the more in control of this nasty virus we can be and our lives can become more normal.

“We are seeing the COVID-19 infection rate increase across the borough so please remember to maintain distance – hands, face, space and fresh air - and get a vaccine as soon as you can. The pop-up vaccine clinics make it so easy, you don’t even need an appointment.”
