Councillor Gareth Gould was invested as Mayor of Ellesmere Port at a ceremony in Ellesmere Port Civic Hall on Wednesday, 7th June.
The new mayor has announced that his chosen charities, which he will support during the year, are Youth Fed, Chapter and the Ellesmere Port Family & Local History Society.
Speaking after his inauguration Cllr Gould said: “It is a huge honour for me to be the new Mayor of Ellesmere Port. I look forward to supporting my chosen charities to help them continue in their efforts to support the well-being of local residents and connecting with our history and heritage.
“I will do my best to support community activities that promote the health and well-being of our children, young people, families, and individuals across generations at work, study and leisure, to make a contribution to build back community better after the pandemic and to build resilience for the future.
“I ask for the support of residents with these endeavours.”
