Liverpool Royal Court Theatre – No Performances Until 5th June

Following the Government’s announcement on Monday, Liverpool’s Royal Court will be rescheduling all performances between now and 5 June.

Three shows will be affected with Pete Price Is Dead moving to October, YNWA moving back to June and Macca & Beth being rescheduled for February 2021.

Box Office staff will be contacting all ticket holders to offer them replacement tickets for the new dates or a voucher that can be used for any show in the next two years.

The Box Office will be very busy for the next few days as more than 10,000 customers have to be contacted but everybody will receive their replacement tickets.

Most will be contacted by email but the bookers for the theatre’s Variety Lunch Clubs will receive a phone call. They are the people who are most likely to be in the at risk groups and the staff, led by actor Angela Simms, want to check in on them. They can also ask for a follow up call every couple of weeks from theatre staff and actors to help to combat social isolation.

Kevin Fearon, Executive Producer at Liverpool’s Royal Court said: 

“This is a very challenging time for the country in general and theatres in particular. The audience here have been amazing and have already shown a lot of support to us online. We will make sure that every single person who has booked with us has a replacement ticket and we want to see them all back here once life has got back to normal. 

“I know that this is a difficult time for everybody but I can’t help but feel that we have been let down by the leadership of the country. Businesses like ours are only as good as the frontline staff and the way in which the Prime Minister handled this latest announcement has meant that thousands of hard working people in the hospitality industry will be struggling to pay their bills. We will do our best for our staff but I would call on the government to support those who have been affected by these latest closures.”
