How Cheshire Fire & Rescue are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic

It is a challenging time as we all adapt to the developing situation relating to COVID-19 but, rest assured, we are continuing to work hard to ensure both your safety and minimal impact on our services.

To minimise the spread of COVID-19 we are limiting non-essential contact with the public to help control the spread of the virus and to ensure our firefighters are available to respond to emergencies.

Chief Fire Officer Mark Cashin: “Like other emergency services, we are working to protect our employees and the wider community from the spread of COVID-19. However, I want to reassure you that we are an active emergency service and are responding to all 999 emergency calls.

“We are constantly monitoring the situation and have robust contingency plans in place to ensure we will always be available for emergencies. However, you can help too.

“Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 23 March, with many people now spending more time at home, it’s important we all do what we can to stay safe. There is a lot of home fire safety advice on our website to keep you and your family safe which I would urge you to read. You can find it here.

“Thank you for your cooperation through these difficult times and, above all, please look after yourselves and your loved ones.”
